Jamie Hornell-Edwards
MCIPD, HR Consultant
Jamie moved into the HR function within a family business, to manage basic processes such as sickness absence, holiday and performance. Jamie is now an Associate of the CIPD (Level 7) and a qualified Mental Health First Aider (MHFA). Jamie has focused her career to date in the private sector, working for 6 years in a small business; launching the HR function and supporting the business through a period of substantial change where she has implemented performance management processes, flexible working patterns and employee incentives. This process allowed Jamie to demonstrate to employees that HR isn’t all about policies, procedures and employment law, HR can support both the business and its employees to successfully grow and develop.
Jamie supports our Blue Star HR Consultants with policy audits, redesign, and implementation and collates the monthly newsletter provided to clients of Blue Star HR. Jamie is keen to grow professionally and is now undertaking further development by working towards her Chartered Membership with the CIPD.
To date Jamie has worked within production engineering, utilities, traffic management, scaffolding and utility arboriculture. These industries have created a confident HR professional, who is familiar with hard working conditions, long hours, shift work and managing performance related pay.
